A Look Back At ETC, October – December 2015

What an exciting end to 2015 for ETC. Between October and December 2015 ETC delivered 28 training sessions to 414 participants. Within these final three months of 2015 ETC was involved in several key events including delivering training modules at the Youth Scotland Big Ideas Weekend, the Active East and SSF Mentor Training Weekend, the Twilight Basketball Coaches Residential and the Scottish Swimming Young Leader Squad Residential.
All of the above events were a huge success. The Youth Scotland Big Ideas weekend was held at the Hilton Hotel Edinburgh and gave attendees the opportunity to try new dance and fitness workshops, gain accredited qualifications on the day and complete ETC training modules Human Connection and Benefits of Sport and Physical Activity.

The Active East and SSF Mentor Training weekend was held at Barlanark Community Centre and focussed on upskilling the current mentors with participants completing training in Increasing and Measuring Levels of Physical Activity, The Words We Use, ETC modules DYA in a Sports Setting and Working with Young People in Sport.

The Twilight Basketball Coaches residential was held at the Ardoch estate and had a main focus on Twilight’s outcomes and what indicators demonstrate these are being achieved. ETC modules delivered at this residential were Working with Young People in Sport, Goal Setting and Standard Life – Step up in Life.

The Scottish Swimming Young Leader Squad Residential was held at Ardentinny Outdoor Centre and was focussed on bringing together 2 swimming club captains from 18 clubs within the West District totalling up to 40 young people with a view to them gaining confidence and skills to go back to clubs and organise activities for participants to keep them in the sport. The participants took part in various outdoor activities and training sessions including ETC modules Communication, Benefits of Sport and Physical Activity and Human Connection.

In the last 3 months of 2015 ETC also successfully delivered training modules in 3 new local authorities, Dundee City, East Renfrewshire and East Ayrshire.
